Job Title: United States Border Patrol AgentAbout the Job: The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring for entry-level positions as a Border Patrol Agent within the U.S. Border Patrol (USBP). This role offers an exciting career in law enforcement with opportunities to work with a highly trained team of professionals who protect America's borders.
Salary and Benefits
Annual base salary varies per grade level: GL-5/GL-7 $49,739 - $89,518 per year. Additionally, fully trained agents may be eligible for up to 25% of base pay increase under the BPA Pay Reform Act of 2014.A range of federal employment benefits are available including health insurance plans dental and other insurances generous annual sick leave program participation in Thrift Savings Plan akin to ROTH 401(k)
The Recruitment Incentive includes up to $20 000 paid upon completion of training at USBP Academy plus additional prioritized location award prioritized locations include Sierra Blanca TX Presidio TX Sanderson TX Comstock TX Lordsburg NM Freer TX Hebbronville TX Ajo AZ retention incentives distribute over four years topping out at forty thousand dollars.
Typical duties involve detecting questioning inspecting documents possessions citizenship or violations preventing apprehending undocumented smugglers using covert surveillance infrared scopes night operations interpreting tracks marks evidence performing farm checks building city traffic transportation vehicle patrols international boundary coastal waterways patrolling using various assets vehicles horses vessels watercraft ATVs snowmobiles motorcycles.
