    Summary/Objective:


    The Business Systems Analyst is an integral member of the Steel Warehouse D365 ERP team and is tasked with working with Business Stakeholders to understand and document business processes and business requirements.

    In this role, the BSA will document current state "as-is" processes and drive consensus towards a desired "to-be" state. Also, the BSA must translate business requirements through analysis and design into complex functional solutions.

    The BSA plays a leadership role in the planning/analysis, design, and testing phases of D365 ERP projects, working closely with business stakeholders and the entire project team to ensure project success.


    Essential Functions:


    • Liaise extensively with business users.
    • Analyze existing systems and business models.
    • Map and document interfaces between legacy and new systems
    • Understand software development lifecycle.
    • Gather and document business requirements.
    • Identify options for potential solutions and assess them for both technical and business suitability.
    • Conduct requirements analysis and prepare specific proposals for modified or replacement systems.
    • Develop solutions and related products.
    • Work closely with colleagues, developers, testers, and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.
    • Mentor and train other team members on Microsoft Dynamics/Crowe Metals Accelerator (CMA)
    • Work with third party implementation partners and developers to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.
    • Create and execute test plans.

    • Provide training and user manuals to users of a new system.
    • Keep up to date with technical and industry developments.
    • Provide end user support.

    • Participate in budgeting and proposal efforts by completing project scoping, cost-benefit analysis, and level of effort assessments.
    • Effectively uses interviewing skills to elicit, identify, and document business requirements.
    • Uncover needs and value drivers that business partners and end users would not be able to articulate on their own.
    • Articulate and incorporate extensive business knowledge into requirements.
    • Obtain agreement and confirm understanding by clearly interpreting business requirements.

    • Manage ambiguity and create accurate project effort estimates for assigned tasks.
    • Accurately identify project-specific risks throughout the software development lifecycle.
    • Understand, consider, and communicate interdependencies for project estimates.
    • Translate business requirements into business solutions, ensuring end-to-end service performance from the user's perspective.
    • Incorporate knowledge of UI best practices in functional design while ensuring compliance to RTS UI standards.
    • Create functional design specification for highly complexity solutions.
    • Map business requirements to functional specifications ensuring traceability.
    • Ensures reusability while minimizing rework.
    • Anticipate weaknesses in the design solution to ensure risk is mitigated.
    • Understand technical design specification and ensure that the technical solution developed will satisfy the needs of the business.
    • Ensure reusability while minimizing rework.

    • Apply and use information and technology standards in solution design, identifying commonalities and suggesting a consistent approach.
    • Identify opportunities for creating reusable enterprise services.

    • Align customer expectations for project delivery (e.g., scope, schedule, budget, and outcome)
    • Influence stakeholder decision making to optimize project deliverables.
    Requirements


    Travel:

    Travel up to 20% for this position (higher during implementation/go-live).


    Required Education:

    Computer Science, Business, or comparable degree.


    Preferred Experience:


    • Minimum of three to five years of MS Dynamics 365 ERP implementation experience (required)
    • Crowe Metals Accelerator experience a plus
    • Experience implementing cloud-based ERP systems.
    • Knowledge and experience with user roles and security in MS Dynamics 365
    • Familiarity or experience with custom forms and Business Document Management in MS Dynamics 365
    • Ability to build rapport with people from diverse backgrounds.
    • Problem-solving, negotiation and decision-making skills
    • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate the with needs of technical peers, technical and user management, business users, vendors, and staff members (work as a team member)
    • Excellent verbal and written communications to include grammar, composition, punctuation, writing, editing and proofreading skills.
    • Experience in developing and maintaining documentation for policies, procedures, and best practices.
    • Experience with DAX, SQL, Azure
    • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, at all levels including customers, vendors, peers, business stakeholders and management required.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office products required.
    • Proficiency with some collaboration tools like SharePoint
    • Capable of learning new systems and creating/implementing new system functionality
