Do you want to make a difference in the lives of senior citizens and disabled individuals on a daily basis?
Dyer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is
looking for an experienced Maintenance Director to provide preventive maintenance and repair equipment, furnishings, and property as needed, and maintain a safety and attractive environment for our residents.
Responsibilities
Survey the facility and identify equipment and systems in need of maintenance or repair
Follow established procedures and tasks
Maintain work order procedures to ensure timely repairs
Maintain all equipment in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition
Maintain regular scheduled maintenance on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and seasonal schedule
Update logs and maintain accurate records
Ensure safe operating procedures at all times, including safe storage of hazardous chemicals
Serve as an effective liaison and supervisor with contractors and ensure proposed work is completed as required
Ensure that all exterior maintenance and snow removal is completed to provide a clean, attractive, and safe property
Report unsafe conditions, defective equipment, etc. to the administrator immediately, and correct unsafe conditions
Coordinate with other departments' schedules to minimize interruptions of normal facility operations
Availability to respond to emergencies at the facility at all times
Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrator
Skills
Proven experience as maintenance technician
Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and regulations
Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
Thorough knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and refrigeration systems, fire systems and equipment, and nurse call systems
Driver's license in good standing
Ability to manage budgets and complete maintenance records and reports
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, perform difficult physical labor, and bend, twist, and stand for long period of time
High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus
