    Position Description

    The Cambridge Public Health Department is a City of Cambridge department administered by the Cambridge Health Alliance, a regional healthcare delivery system. The Cambridge Public Health Department protects and promotes the health of everyone in Cambridge, particularly those most vulnerable, through services, information, policies, and regulations. Cambridge Public Health Department is an innovative and high-performing organization that has been nationally accredited since 2018 by the Public Health Accreditation Board, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the continuous quality improvement of public health departments.

    We seek a Manager of Finance and Grants Management to join our team. This position will ensure that the department's accounting and grants management functions operate efficiently and effectively and align with organizational goals.

    This individual will be strategic, analytical, creative, focused, and driven to meet and exceed our annual revenue and growth goals by examining, recommending, and developing financial planning and business strategies. The ideal candidate is a skilled financial manager with experience in grant management and organizational planning for nonprofits. They are mission-driven strategic, and can seamlessly shift focus from details to the big picture.

    The Finance and Grants Management Manager is a full-time salaried hybrid remote position with benefits. This position requires successfully passing a reference check and a background check.

    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Equivalent, relevant experience may be substituted for a degree. Master's degree in finance or healthcare preferred
    • Understanding sponsored award requirements, Uniform Guidance, and the ability to interpret guidelines for grant projected managers with various grant experiences is strongly preferred.
    • 3+ years of post-award grant accounting experience is required.
    • 5+ years of similar experience in a healthcare or non-profit setting with prior supervisory experience is strongly desired
    • Ability to anticipate, assess, and prioritize ongoing needs and effectively communicate these with staff and co-workers.
    • Ability to interact successfully with many diverse groups with varied levels of financial literacy.
    • Knowledge/experience with Axiom, Jagger, grant and non-profit systems, or other similar financial systems is preferred.
    • Ability to adapt to complex corporate/agency financial management systems.
    • Microsoft Excel experience is required.
    • Experience in grant prospect research is preferred.
    • Experience in grant proposal writing is a plus.
