Job Title

A Shift Lead position is available at Lofty Coffee in Encinitas, CA.

We are seeking a self-motivated individual with excellent leadership skills to join our 16 person strong team.

About the Role

This role contributes to the success of Lofty Co. by supporting the General Manager in fostering a positive work environment and delivering outstanding service for our guests.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the team to deliver exceptional service and achieve business goals.
• Foster a positive work environment where each team member embodies Lofty's Ethos and acts with integrity and honesty.
• Train new team members using all Lofty training tools to effectively perform their roles.

Service Standards

• Act as a Brand Ambassador for Lofty Co. and strive to deliver the best guest experience.
• Set the right ambiance and standards for the café to attract and retain guests.
• Direct team and workflow to ensure that FOH and BOH team members deliver exceptional service and enhance the guest's experience.
• Ensure that all food and beverage recipes and procedures are followed, maintaining the highest quality and Lofty standards.

Key Performance Indicators

• Provide guidance and actively set a positive example for team members, ensuring they follow Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ensure team members adhere to meal and break policies, food and beverage policies, and dress code policies.
• Perform front and back of house functions, including opening and closing procedures, maintaining cleanliness standards, preparing food and beverages to standards, and placing daily orders to vendors.

Requirements

• 2+ years of cafe, restaurant, or retail management experience required.
• Proficient on a computer and proficient with software programs such as Microsoft Suite and Google Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with guests, teammates, and leadership required.
• Must have open availability and be able to work up to 40 hours a week, including weekends, evenings, and special events as needed.
