- This position requires a combination of electric, gas, arc, helium arc, TIG, MIG and Plasma Arc welding of various metals.
- Machinist Skills
- Comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
- Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, twist, and work on or in the aircraft.
- Frequently lift and/or push or pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or push or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean, FOD-free work area.
- Properly use, handle and dispose of hazardous materials, and toxic or caustic chemicals per Government regulations and company proceduresAcceptable candidate must be certified within 180 days from start date with validation testing performed by Lockheed Martin.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in aviation welding with GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG) manual welding processes in aluminum, carbon steel, stainless steel and titanium.
- Repair weldable components on and off aircraft with the use of special tooling and ground support equipment following oral and/or written instructions.
- Capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and weld symbols.
- Use and operate all hand tools and machinery associated with a weld shop
- Ability to design and fabricate weld holding fixtures as necessary to perform individual welding projects.
- Basic knowledge of aircraft manuals
- Familiarity with AWS A2.4 Standard Weld Symbols and AWS A3.0 Standard Welding Terms
- Trade / vocational training or military training as a welder
