Located on the campus of Scripps Green Hospital in beautiful Torrey Pines in the Geisel Pavilion.
Your job duties:
Responsible for oversight of the activities and functions of the department comprising of 16 FTEs as direct reports.
Provide functional expertise to staff and leadership and lead the tone for the department for ensure an optimal patient experience.
Ensure effective use of system resources.Participate in standards of practice and process improvement activities.
Participate in hiring, oversee daily productivity, and create staffing schedules.
Ensure policy and procedures are followed by staff.
Develop standard work for all administrative areas including surgery scheduling, appointment scheduling, and centralized call hub work flows.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Access, managing staff, surgery scheduling, and experience with CMS Avaya. You will have exceptional communication skills and the ability to successfully lead customer service recovery.
Qualifications:
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
High school diploma plus three years current applicable experience in a healthcare environment
Knowledge of scheduling & billing systems
Ability to prioritize, plan, coordinate, train and evaluate staff
Knowledge of healthcare business and operational practices
Basic computer skills, including knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and other applicable systems
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree
Lead experience (formal or informal)
High level experience in customer service and problem resolution
Access experience
Managing staff
Surgery scheduling experience
Experience with CMS Avaya
Ophthalmology and/or optometry experience
