    Senior AccountantBoston/Hybrid Onsite (Tues, Weds, and Thurs - required)


    JOB SUMMARY:
    This position is responsible for all areas in day to day accounting.

    This position will be responsible for overseeing financial processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and contributing to the companys financial strategy.

    This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, AP/AR, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.

    The Sr. Accountant will have contact with senior-level staff which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.


    PRINCIPAL DUTIES:


    Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structureLead the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirementsManage month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and financial reportingCollaborate with cross functional teams to ensure financial data integrity and provide insights for decision makingImplement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulationsOversee the preparation of reports and analyses to support strategic planningCoordinate and mange the audit process, liaising with external auditors to address inquiries and facilitate a smooth auditMonitor and analyze financial performance against key performance metrics to identify areas for improvementMentor and guide junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and growth oriented work environmentPrepare monthly schedules for the close, book journal entries, contact vendors for estimates and ensure that all monthly transactions are reported accurately, and that record keeping is maintained.

    Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
    Review of the Accounts Payable and Payroll transactions.
    Work with the FP&A team to support budget and forecasting activities.
    Ensure support for Audit and Quarterly reviews is accurate, maintaining schedules, reconciliations, and support throughout the year. Each month, updating amortizations and backup relating to schedules.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE (BASIC QUALIFICATIONS):
    BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, CPA preferred.4-6 years industry experience.
    Experience with Clinical Trials, manufacturing or commercial pharmaceuticals - requiredExperience with NetSuite and Concur preferred.
    Demonstrated proficiency as an Advanced MS Excel user required Pivot Tables/Charts, VLOOKUP, IF Functions, etc.
