    Job Summary

    To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Test Development Engineer located in Austin, Texas.

    Reporting to the Test Development Manager, the Test Development Engineer is responsible for architecting, developing, and implementing electro-hydraulics aspect of test development process with a focus on fixturing, product interfacing, automation, and operator safety.

    What a typical day looks like:

  • Work with the customer and design team to understand product test requirements.
  • Ability to interpret product specifications and documentation relating to functionality.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and tools.
  • Lead and Mentor a team of junior engineers on daily testing responsibilities.
  • Evaluate different product interfaces.
  • Understand hardware architecture of product.
  • Understand standard communication protocols.
  • Develop environments based on specific test needs.
  • Understand interaction between Software / Hardware / Fixturing / Test environment.
  • Work closely with Design Engineers to understand product functionality.
  • Ensure safety of operator.
  • Provide automation testing solutions
  • Be familiar with probing techniques.
  • Have ability to perform DFT activity as it relates to product handling,
  • Be aware of all the latest hardware technologies.
  • The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor's degree in HW/Software Engineering or similar is required.
  • Requires 8+ years of relevant experience in engineering of complex hardware products with proven technical leadership.
  • Provides significant strategic leadership in the functional area to the site as well as influences other sites. Helps Lead and mentor a team of other engineers.
  • Experience interfacing with internal stakeholders, and external customers.
  • Experience and knowledge with PCBA Layout Design Software such as ORCAD Cadence, Altium or Similar platform.
  • Experience leveraging a wide variety of testing instrumentation including any of the following: Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Frequency Generators, Power Supplies, RF Measurement equipment, Signal Generators, Vector Analyzers and/ or Automated Testing Equipment.
  • Programming and scripting in at least one of the following languages: C, C++, C#, Python
  • Experience with NI Test Stand Software, LabVIEW, a plus.
  • Experience with Electrical design of digital and analog circuits.
  • Knowledge of Different network and industrial protocols such as Bluetooth, Wifi Communication, CANBUS, RS-485, One Wire, Ethercat, TCP, IP Protocols.
  • Ability to travel 20% to different Flex sites for installation of test fixtures, equipment and other tasks.
