- Provide interpreting services for students in various educational settings such as classrooms, meetings, and extracurricular activities.
- Translate spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa.
- Assist students in understanding and participating in classroom activities and discussions.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to fulfill students' educational requirements.
- Aid in the preparation of educational materials when necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional ethical standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent; preference given to candidates with a college degree.
- Hold a valid state certification as a Sign Language Interpreter in South Carolina.
- Demonstrate proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other sign systems as required.
- Deep understanding of Deaf culture and issues pertaining to deafness.
