- Obtain histories as appropriate for newborns
- Provide teaching, counseling and guidance regarding nutritional, growth, developmental, environmental, and behavioral concerns and illness management
- Identify physical, behavioral, developmental, emotional, social or environmental concerns
- Facilitate appropriate laboratory screening and diagnostic tests related to early identification of newborn illness, or chronic conditions
- Interpret laboratory tests and treat conditions
- Diagnose physical illness
- Evaluate effectiveness of treatment and modify treatment appropriately.
- Assesses parenting skills of families of newborns
- .7875 FTE (7 shifts in two weeks)
- 7a-4p shifts
- Every 3rd weekend consisting of Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- Rotating holidays
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing
- Graduate from a formal pediatric nurse practitioner program approved by a national accrediting agency
- Be certified by a national certification organization of their specialty
- Current or pending licensure in the State of Minnesota
- CPR Certification
- Previous pediatric/adolescent/NICU nursing experience preferred
- Previous pediatric nurse practitioner experience preferred, open to new grads with relevant experience
