    *Optoro continues to work primarily remote due to COVID-19. Interviews and onboarding for new candidates will be done remotely for the foreseeable future.

    Job Purpose

    The Presales Consultant leads the communication and demonstration of Optoros returns platform in the pre-sales process, and provides retail supply chain thought leadership within the Client Development team.

    This role is an integral part of our enterprise software sales process where you will drive deep discovery into prospective clients current returns management processes, uncover improvement opportunities, and construct winning proposals, resulting in multi-year contracts with new clients.


    You will have the opportunity to collaborate with clients, sales, product management, and software development teams to architect technical solutions that solve some of the most complex and challenging returns management and reverse logistics issues for our clients.


    Responsibilities

    Pursue and Win New Business** Lead the technical and business discovery, business case development, and solution design for clients complex retail returns management challenges

    • Exercise creativity and business acumen in designing practical solutions utilizing Optoro technology and services to meet client needs
    • Lead compelling software product demonstrations throughout key points of sales cycle
    • Support detailed technical and operational process scoping sessions with clients to deepen understanding of opportunities and incorporate observations into business impact models
    • Use and modify existing business impact and profitability models to construct ROI message in proposals
    • Write proposals and lead final presentations with Sales/Solutions leadership
    • Document and transition deal knowledge and help ensure a successful transition to the Professional Services team for all winning proposals
    • Simultaneously manage work streams across multiple active sales pursuits; seamlessly coordinate and mobilize resources from internal cross-functional groups as needed

    Help Surface Product Enhancements

    • Articulate, contextualize, and champion client requirements that necessitate software enhancements to internal Product Management and Technology teams
    • Identify trends and explain unmet requirements common across different clients to help Product Management team improve existing Optoro solution with maximum impact

    Qualifications

    • 2-5+ years of relevant retail consulting experience within a top tier consulting firm and/or experience as a sales engineer for a retail-focused enterprise software firm
    • Bachelors degree from a 4-year college (or equivalent) is required; a degree in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Computer Science is preferred
    • Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint and Visio or Google Sheets, Slides, and Docs; 3 or more years of experience using complex formulas and pivot tables to analyze data in Excel
    • Willing to travel up to 40% of the time, within public health safety protocols
    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills; strong listening skills; demonstrated ability to ask effective questions
    • Exemplary critical-thinking skills, attention to detail and ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy
    • Ability to simplify difficult challenges/concepts into pragmatic solutions while maintaining client satisfaction
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and assume responsibility for quality results with minimal supervision
    • Thrive in a dynamic, fluid team environment and able to deal with ambiguity
    • Energetic and highly dependable with solid organizational skills
