- Conduct ground grid testing and medium voltage cable testing.
- Service and test transformers, relays, breakers, switches, and other electrical apparatus/systems at utility substations and industrial facilities.
- Troubleshoot and test control circuits, communication systems, protection systems, and other electrical apparatus.
- Perform breaker and relay retrofits.
- Ability to interpret prints and control/protection schemes.
- Complete and submit reports accurately and timely.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
- Associate's Degree in Electrical Power or Electrical Engineering.
- Proficiency in computer and phone skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on client/customer needs.
- Valid driver's license.
- Effective communication skills.
- Extensive travel required; up to 5 days/week with overnights possible.
- On-call duty required approximately six times per year.
- Prior experience in a similar position.
- Electrical and mechanical aptitude.
- This position requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, crawling, and reaching frequently.
- Aerial work may be necessary, such as working on ladders or scaffolding.
- Occasional lifting of heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.).
- Frequent use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
- Must adhere to applicable safety practices for the site.
- Uneven or slippery walking surfaces.
- Must be able to wear proper PPE (i.e., hearing protection, safety glasses, hard hat, etc.).
