SUMMARY:

Van driver will operate a school Van to transport school children over designated routes; and do other work as required.

***Please note that this position is a training position. All Van drivers must complete School Bus Training and obtain a Class B license along with a School Bus Certificate.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Although other duties may be assigned, the essential duties include:

• Drive a van daily/weekends over designated routes in accordance with time schedules
• Picking up and discharging school children.
• Escorts children across streets when necessary.
• Transport children and teachers on field trips to various locations.
• Make departures and arrivals according to schedule.
• Maintain the van in a clean and safe operating condition.
• Maintain good order among the students in the vans and waiting at the bus stops.
• Following school policies regarding the disciplining of children and contact with the parents and other citizens
• Prepare operational reports and reports of needed van repairs.

EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Licenses & Certificates: Valid California Drivers License, First Aid Card/ and must continue to maintain all licenses in good standing.

EXPERIENCE

• Two years of successful driving experience with a demonstrated record of safe driving.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A valid and appropriate California Driver's License
• Safe driving record
• Basic first aid
• Knowledge of California DMV Laws and regulations

REQUIRED

• A current California Drivers License
• All applicants are required to complete the pre-screen Background Clearance and Drug Testing.
