    Description

    Roush Yates Engines and Ford Performance engineering teams have partnered to design, develop, and build championship race engines that power a global motorsports marketplace. Our engineering team is looking for a Simulation Manager. This individual will work with simulation tools to improve engine performance and durability, reduce prototype and test costs and accelerate design and development time to the track. This position is full-time on-site in Mooresville, NC, remote work is not available.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform engine simulation analysis in the following areas: 1D & 3D CFD powertrain and gas exchange simulation, cranktrain associated components/systems, valvetrain and drive systems, and camshaft/spring pack design.
    • Conduct simulation activity that will help identify and prioritize the performance development and durability activity of various powertrain programs.
    • Work closely with test engineering to determine testing process, instrumentation and data quality required to validate the models.
    • Carry out verification and validation activity to quantify model uncertainty and accuracy.
    • Analyze simulation data with design and development leads and determine next steps with engineering leadership.
    • Perform DOEs to determine sensitivities and determine direction to deliver program targets.
    • Develop and present technical overviews to leadership for analytical simulation status and program design or development opportunities.
    • Other duties and projects as assigned.
    Job Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical or similar technical field required.
    • 3-5 years of experience working with CAE tools, specifically 1D & 3D-CFD software (e.g. GT-POWER, Converge, StarCCM+ etc.) - applied to evaluate and optimize engine performance.
    • Technical understanding of combustion, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, combustion analysis, IC engine gas exchange and modeling techniques.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with strong organization skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
