    Job Description

    The Assistant Coach will be involved in all aspects of the SMSU Football Program. This position focuses on offensive practice planning, offensive pass game coordination, game preparation, recruitment, and coaching of the quarterback position. Team organization, scheduling and prior work with camp coordination. Other job duties to be assigned may include student athlete academic success, fund raising, or other assignments that reflect the expertise of the candidate. Position may be assigned teaching duties or game management as part of the position's responsibilities based previous experience.

    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree.
    • 3 years of collegiate or professional football coaching experience.
    • 3 years of quarterback coaching or playing at the collegiate level
    • Offensive Pass game Coordinating Experience (football).
    • Experience with and knowledge of NCAA D2 compliance policies and procedures.
    • Demonstrated commitment or proven strategies for fostering a diverse and inclusive environment and demonstrated ability or proven strategies to teach and work with persons from diverse backgrounds.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Master's Degree
    • Collegiate QB coaching experience.
    • Collegiate offensive pass game coordinating experience
    • Successful collegiate recruiting record.
    • Knowledge of HUDL recruiting and scouting software & Visio Playbook
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with student-athletes.
    • Ability to assist in the development and implementation of diversity and inclusion programming and support within the SMSU Football program and the Department of Athletics.
    • Collegiate and/or professional football playing experience.
    • Facility oversight, fundraising, and game management experience.
    • Prior teaching or game management experience.
    • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications.
