- Ensure compliance with Title VII, FMLA, FLSA, EEOC, and all other applicable employment laws
- Lead HR and payroll team and ensure consistency in delivery of all HR programs/policies
- Accurately diagnose organizational issues, develop solutions, and implement them
- Act as senior level advisor on human resources issues to other executives and all levels of employees throughout the company
- Establish credibility throughout the organization with management and employees to be an effective listener and problem-solver of people issues
- Work with entire operations team and home office staff to enhance work environment and company culture
- Lead the research, development, implementation, and management of an HRIS system
- Assess current recruiting and hiring processes and adjust as needed to ensure that top quality talent is hired
- Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning of new programs/strategies and regulatory action as those items impact the attraction, motivation, development and retention of company staff
- Oversee the performance management process and ensure that conversations with key staff members are carried out in a timely manner
- Assess and plan development paths for all direct reports
- Assess current company benefit needs and develop benefit offerings to meet those needs
- Responsible for the assessment and renewal of the company's general liability, D&O, property, Workers' Comp, cyber and other professional policies
- Able to develop strong relationships and partnerships across the company including field Operations as well as outside vendors and brokers
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws on HR policies and procedures
- Maintain a thorough knowledge in all areas by participating in continuing education initiatives
- Oversee employee file maintenance and other sensitive documentation 7-10+ years progressive Human Resources experience as a generalist, with at least five years in a business partnership and/or director/executive level role at a high growth company
- At least 5 years high level HR experience in a multi-unit, multi-state company. Restaurant experience preferred
- SHRM-SCP certification
- Experience with research, development, implementation and management of HRIS
- Comfortable communicating clearly and strategically with executives, managers, front of house, and back of house staff
- Experience with audit processes including Sarbanes-Oxley controls and audits
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Restaurant payroll knowledge
- Excellent communication skills
- High level of honesty, integrity, and ethics
