- Work directly with individuals with ID/A who have or have had criminal justice involvement. Meeting with them at their point of referral to assist in all areas of criminal justice system involvement from prevention of recidivism through reentry.
- Assure court and justice system facility compliance with ADA and all needed accommodations for assigned consumer, including physically accessible accommodations, assistive technology as needed, communication supports (iPad, picture/social stories, interpreters, ELL support, etc.).
- Develop individualized service plans with the individual, either to avoid repeated criminal justice system involvement or to offer an alternative to traditional pleas and penalties.
- Attendance to ALL court and court-related appearances as authorized by the individual, including MDJ through meetings with probation / parole.
- Closely collaborate with the individual's legal team to ensure the individual's understanding and ability to comply, and then to present the service plan, and testify as requested.
- Responsible for monitoring service plans with individuals to ensure recidivism reduction and ensure compliance with bond, probation, and parole provisions.
- Coordinate and participate in all cross-system team meetings, including partners within ODS and DHS as a whole, as well as: Justice Related Services, Pretrial Services and the Behavioral Assessment Unit, Office of the Public Defender, District Attorney's Office, Problem Solving Courts Team, Torrance State Hospital, and others.
- Closely collaborate with other teams within ODS, including Priority Planning, Promising Practices, Intake and Eligibility. The LeCSI Program Specialist will be a person-focused, blended supports coordinator / forensic case manager working directly with the consumer, while the other teams will continue to offer provider and support team level technical assistance.
- Coordinate with the consumer's Supports Coordinator, support team, and provider staff to ensure all provisions of the individualized plans are met, and eventually fading out as possible.

Currently under the supervision of the ODS Legal Liaison, LeCSI hopes to expand in this first full operational year to include the addition of a Program Specialist. The LeCSI program specialist must have experience with the criminal justice system, and Returning Citizens are highly encouraged to apply. Experience working with individuals with ID/A, particularly in the behavioral supports areas, is a plus, but not a requirement.
