- Assist in evaluating new and current business to assess risk, loss history, and other underwriting data to ensure profitability
- Make underwriting choices following company procedures, binding constraints, reinsurance limits, and regulations set by the Texas Department of Insurance
- Supervise the tasks of Underwriters and Analysts
- Create and manage protocols to enhance efficiency and consistency in applying underwriting policies
- Manage complex accounts
- Address coverage inquiries, claims, errors & omissions, and customer complaints
- Inform underwriting decisions to sales team, insured individuals, and applicants
- Collaborate with different departments within the organization
- Cultivate professional relationships both internally and externally
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years of underwriting experience
- Leadership experience is a plus
- CPCU certification is desirable
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Capability to train and guide junior team members
- Possession of a valid Texas driver's license and satisfactory driving record
