    Overview:

    SOFTWARE ENGINEER - CLIENT (ERDC):

    Bowhead seeks a Software Engingeer - Client to support the Engineering Research and Development Center (ERDC) contract located in Vicksburg, MS. The Software Engineer - Client will perform and document explicit and implicit functional and technical requirements, create analysis and design documentation, create program specifications, and unit test criteria, code, and test program units, and produce program documentation.

    Responsibilities:
    • Perform and document explicit and implicit functional and technical requirements, create analysis and design documentation, create program specifications, and unit test criteria, code, and test program units, and produce program documentation.
    • Activities include develop, test, and integrate software utilizing CMMI practices, processes, and services; use programming languages that include but not limited to Python, Microsoft C#, JavaScript, HTML and/or HTML5), Extensible Markup Language (XML), C #, Entity, Model View Controller (MVC), JSON, IIS, Bootstrap, Web Service, REST Services, Angular JS, and Structured Query Language (SQ) within the Microsoft.NET environment.
    • Preferred development database is SQL Server; however, other databases may be utilized to support development of the applications.
    • Use applicable structured software development and object-oriented principles and tool suites and adhere to established software development standards and guidelines.
    • Work with limited direction on complex assignments.
    • Independently define approach to tasks and solutions.
    • The government technical representative will provide the contractors site manager with the system specifications the contractor is responsible for implementing.
    • Validate implementation before integrating to the shared code source, as well as before and after deployments to applications and develop and implement source code in accordance with policies and guidance to secure and maintain the systems authority to operate (ATO).
    • Conduct analysis development and maintenance of software, modify and create systems software and ensure systems efficiency and integrity.
    Qualifications:
    • BA/S in Computer Science or related field and an additional two to five (2-5) years of professional experience is highly preferred.
    • A CompTIA Security+ certificate may be required prior to starting this position
    • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
    • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
    • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

    Physical Demands:
    Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
    Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
    Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically

    SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Public Trust clearance at this location.
