Job SummaryThe Director of Banquets at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, is responsible for leading their team in executing the 'The Levy Difference' in regards to operations, human resources and financials in a union facility.
Operations Ensures all catering services exceed guest expectationsSuccessfully presents Levy catering services to guests in a manner that exceeds guest expectations and profitabilityCommunicates client's needs through timely and detailed written and verbal communications to ensure internal understanding / compliance and external guest's expectation of servicesHas location specific food and wine knowledgeInitiates contact with clients to secure their food and beverage selections in advance of event datesHas strong attention to detailHolds team accountable to steps of service to deliver great guest serviceEnsure that team members consistently deliver Heartfelt Hospitality to every guest, every timeEnsures show quality standards are maintained at all timesBuilds and maintains strong relationships with clients, guests, subcontractors, not-for-profits and Levy team membersRegularly obtains feedback from clients and guests to improve operationsSupports and communicates Company initiativesRespond and assist in any departmental guest service issuesExecutes all menus, promotions and programs as outlined by the Director of Catering in accordance with Levy standardsDevelops and executes strategic research programs and plans in accordance with Core SignaturesDirects the overall communication efforts of the department to ensure internal guest understanding and compliance and external guest's expectation of 'World Class' service ControlsThoroughly and accurately uses applicable Levy systems (Purchasing Systems, Point-of-sale, WFM, eReserve and more)Achieves daily sales and assigned cost goalsAchieves assigned department budget goalsEmploys good safety and sanitation practicesFollows and enforces responsible alcohol service policiesOversees execution of required daily reporting Oversees completion of required department reports and compiles information at month end closing Ensures team members adhere to Levy Company guidelines as stated in team member training manual and employee handbook Assures the continual process of revenue developmentPromotes the sale of profitable Levy servicesOversees preparation of account forecasts and analysis of group sales in accordance with Levy Core Signature GuidelinesAssures the process of complete billing for client services and receipt of payments in accordance with Levy standards is followed throughTeamUses all performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to teamPromotes a cooperative work climate, maximizing productivity and moraleConducts regular scheduled meetings to ensure lines of communication are open between management and team membersInterviews, hires, trains and develops team members according to Levy Restaurants guidelinesDisplays a positive attitude towards team membersMentors department managers to develop their skills and leadership abilities.
