Position Summary

Being an entry level the Material Handler is responsible for maintaining the flow of products in and out of the facility.

Core Responsibilities and Duties

Observes all safety and quality guidelines and policies at the workplace
Reviews production schedule, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to identify items to be handled, collected, or distributed.
Transports materials and items from receiving or production zones to storage or other assigned areas.
Arranges and positions materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins based on a pre-determined sequence like size, type, style, color, or product code.
Satisfies requisitions, work orders, or material requests, and distributes items to production areas.
Compiles customer orders from available stock and situates them on pallets.
Labels materials with appropriate identifying details.
Unpacks containers like bales, crates, and others.
Documents quantities of materials received or distributed.
Weighs or counts items for internal distribution to ensure compliance with company standards.
Inputs records into the computer system.
Operates material handling machinery to move stored items.
Loads and unloads trailers with palletized and non-palletized goods using manual and automated material handling equipment.
Upholds and follows safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures for secure housekeeping and personal safety.
May be assigned to additional responsibilities as necessary.
Contributes to divisional outcomes and performance
Manages internal and external customer requirements and expectations

Position Requirements

1. FORMAL EDUCATION

Mandatory: High school diploma or equivalent.

2. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

The applicant should possess effective communication skills to interact with team members and management personnel.
Able to interpret data through warehouse computer software.

Preferred: 6 months' relevant work involvement
