    • 45,000 annual ED volume

    • 40 hours physician coverage
    • 46 hours NP/PA coverage
    • Multimillion dollar expansion and facelift of ED underway
    • Excellent subspecialty support: cardio, neuro, gastro, mental health, ophthalmology, ortho, general surge, spine, trauma surgery, women's care, wound care
    • Actively acquiring level 2 trauma designation
    • SCP Health also staffs hospitalist program, creating great synergy between departments
    • ABEM-only physician group
    • 2 freestanding EDs nearby to pick up extra shifts or to have a change of pace
    *Facility Information*LewisGale Medical Center is a 506-bed facility staffed with highly skilled medical professionals. The hospital is part of a system with four hospitals, two Cancer Centers and six Outpatient Centers catering to over 250,000 patients annually. LewisGale Medical Center is an accredited chest pain center approved by the society of Cardiovascular Patient Care and it is a top performer on key quality measures by the Joint Commission.

    *Community Description*Salem is a small-city in Roanoke County, Virginia situated in the Shenandoah Valley between the Allegheny and Blue Ridge Mountains on the Roanoke River. Salem offers all the beauty that nature can bestow, great neighborhoods, low cost of living, excellent schools and plenty of recreational activities. The city is located approximately 30 miles from Blacksburg and 104 miles from Greensboro, North Carolina.
