- Performs a variety of technical duties related to cardiovascular system diagnosis in the noninvasive section of the Cardiovascular Noninvasive Services Center.
- Essential: standing, sitting, stooping/bending, walking on uneven ground, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking; frequent gripping of an object.
- Frequent: walking, twisting body, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
- Occasional: kneeling, squatting, lifting patient from bench to gurney with assistance; reaching above shoulder level.
- Operates various cardiac equipment and instruments.
- Exposed to both inside and outside environmental conditions.
- Exposure to body fluids and moving mechanical parts.
- Shielded Radio Active materials; however, only handled by certified personnel.
- Academic background necessary to understand basic values and principles of cardiac anatomy, physiology, mathematics, pathology and pathophysiology of cardiovascular system.
- Successful completion of arrhythmia exam (administered by department) with 85% or greater.
- Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) preferred.
- Current certification in BLS/HCP.
- Two (2) years experience in medical setting; associate's degree in Cardiopulmonary; or a bachelor's degree in Science, Health Care or related field with prior experience in a medical setting.
- Prior work experience in a cardiopulmonary field preferred.
