    RESPONSIBILITIES
    I


    JOB SUMMARY/
    RESPONSIBILITIES:


    • Performs a variety of technical duties related to cardiovascular system diagnosis in the noninvasive section of the Cardiovascular Noninvasive Services Center.

    TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Essential: standing, sitting, stooping/bending, walking on uneven ground, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking; frequent gripping of an object.
    • Frequent: walking, twisting body, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
    • Occasional: kneeling, squatting, lifting patient from bench to gurney with assistance; reaching above shoulder level.
    • Operates various cardiac equipment and instruments.

    TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Exposed to both inside and outside environmental conditions.
    • Exposure to body fluids and moving mechanical parts.
    • Shielded Radio Active materials; however, only handled by certified personnel.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    A


    EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

    • Academic background necessary to understand basic values and principles of cardiac anatomy, physiology, mathematics, pathology and pathophysiology of cardiovascular system.
    • Successful completion of arrhythmia exam (administered by department) with 85% or greater.
    • Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) preferred.
    • Current certification in BLS/HCP.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Two (2) years experience in medical setting; associate's degree in Cardiopulmonary; or a bachelor's degree in Science, Health Care or related field with prior experience in a medical setting.
    • Prior work experience in a cardiopulmonary field preferred.
    • Experience to demonstrate:
    o Ability to perform diagnostic EKG's.

    o Familiarity with computers and automated systems.

    o Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook and Excel).
