    Our client is looking for a senior US Government contracts professional with Security Clearance to join a busy, growing, and successful team supporting their Naval Strategic Contracts business area.

    Associate Director of Contracts

    $180-190K plus top benefits & 10% 410k

    Cambridge, MA - hybrid working from home role with 3 days per week office based.

    You must be a US citizen with active Security Clearance at Secret or higher level to apply for this role.

    To be successful in this role:

    You will be a confident Contracts professional with 10+ years of Department of Defense contracts experience across the acquisition phases with critical understanding of research and development, systems integration, and sustainment contracts.

    Other requirements for this role include:

    • 5+ years of prior leadership experience for direct reports
    • Deep understanding and ability to demonstrate familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Department of Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), including intellectual property rules
    • Ability to development and execute negotiation strategies
    • Exceptional writing skills and the ability to produce accurate work products under pressure
    • Deep understanding of full life-cycle contract management of all contract types (CPFF, CPIF, FFP, FPI, T&M, etc.) and Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs)
    • Experience establishing and refining management approaches
    • The ability to produce quality risk analysis, business cases, presentations and craft contract language
    • Excellent oral and written communications skills and the ability to effectively interact at all levels within the organization and with external customers
    • Familiarity with Financial terms and metrics
    • Experience working within a matrixed organization and maintaining an approved Contractor Purchasing System with shared accountabilities for policies and procedures
    • The desire to make a difference, be impactful and lead from the front Strong Computer Skills
    • DoD SECRET Clearance
    • BA/BS degree
    • Must have the ability to obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance
    • Other desirable but not essential requirements for this role include:
    • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems MBA, Juris Doctor or other advanced degree
    • DoD Top Secret clearance
    • Professional Certifications (e.g. CFCM, CPCM, etc)
    • Experience leading process change and transformation initiatives across a wide variety of stakeholders
    • Familiarity with Production Programs

    Position summary:

    Our client is looking for a full time Associate Director of Contracts to lead and manage a small team of Contracts professionals, and direct all aspects of contract management activities for the business, including proposal support and negotiation, post- award administration, change management, and closeout.

    Job role and responsibilities:

    The Associate Director of Contracts provides leadership and direction to members of the Navy Strategic Contracts team and guidance to the cross-functional Program Team in a matrixed organization and is a leader within the Contracts organization. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance to Corporate Policies and Procedures, assessing and enhancing the health of customer partnerships, implementing strategic initiatives in support of corporate goals and program imperatives, and monitoring performance and risk across a critical portfolio of Contracts.

    Other responsibilities for this role include:

    • Work closely with Programs, Finance, Subcontracts, and Legal to maintain and improve cross-functional business management processes that include all aspects of contract administration and life cycle management
    • Provide guidance, support and mentorship to a small contracts staff in the areas of solicitation review, proposal development, contract negotiation, contract administration, change management and contract closeout
    • Manage team performance for timely compliance with regulations, corporate policy, procedure and internal directives
    • Manage contracts of high complexity across multiple contract types
    • Support Program Office with proposal development in compliance with solicitation requirements, internal policy and regulations Interpret contract requirements, assess risk and propose mitigations
    • Negotiate contracts including terms associated with prime contracts and business to business agreements
    • Advise on complex change management
    • Identify areas for process improvement, propose alternatives and implement updates
    • Develop and apply solutions to complex problems which require the regular use a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation
    • Build and maintain highly effective working relationships with internal customers and external US Government personnel
    • Guide & mentor direct reports in the proper application of contract management principles including FAR & DFAR interpretation, TINA Requirements, and cost principles
    • Develop and implement effective training plans and foster an environment of continuous learning
    • Foster a culture of compliance, transparency and continuous improvement of process and team culture
