    We have partnered with our client in the search for an Oracle Database Administrator.

    The ability to receive a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense background investigation for this position is required.

    Responsibilities
    Plan, design, develop, and maintain Oracle databases in development, Quality Assurance, and production environments.
    Write database code, stored procedures, scripts, and triggers for standalone use or use by application programs.
    Oversee the stabilization and performance optimization of production databases.
    Provide cost, design, and work estimates.
    Monitor access time, perform validation checks, and use other methods to monitor and analyze database performance.
    Perform security-related functions including remediation of vulnerabilities.
    Develop and apply procedures relating to database and application security.
    Develop and apply procedures for periodic database backup.
    Serve as the point of contact with technical peers for the resolution of infrastructure-related issues.
    Perform analysis, feasibility studies, and vendor comparisons leading to the acquisition of database-related products.
    Ensure compliance with HIPAA, privacy, and DIACAP policies.
    Provide technical guidance for applications programming to support all aspects of database systems.
    Create databases, tablespaces, tables, indexes, triggers, procedures, and other objects.
    Define the content and structure of the database schema and advise users on techniques for extracting data.
    Consult with development groups concerning the impact new applications will have on the database.
    Maintain accurate and up-to-date database system documentation.
    Assure the accurate preparation of database reorganization and restructuring schedules.
    Support all phases of testing, correct errors, and make necessary database modifications.
    Apply patches and application upgrades.
    Evaluate and recommend purchases of new hardware and software to improve database design, analysis, performance, and reliability.
    Skills and Experienc e
    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
    Ability to receive a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense background investigation
    4+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator with progressive higher-level experience leading to a Senior Database Administrator role or equivalent
    4+ years of experience supporting Oracle databases on a Linux operating environment
    2+ years of experience with Oracle database release 19c
    Comprehension of file access methods database design, data standards, data control, backup, and security
    Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and UNIX operating systems with the ability to write UNIX shell scripts
    Proficiency in SQL and PLSQL with experience writing and tuning SQL queries
    Familiarity with government security requirements related to databases
    Current certification in Oracle, preferred
    Knowledge of Azure Cloud environment preferred
    Working experience as SQL Server DBA preferred
