- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, chemists, and manufacturing experts to develop and optimize battery designs.
- Develop innovative solutions to enhance battery performance, efficiency, and durability.
- Lead and manage projects related to battery development, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project goals.
- Design and construct advanced development concepts for battery systems.
- Perform testing, characterization, and evaluation of battery prototypes to validate performance and safety.
- Collaborate with external partners, suppliers, and research institutions to leverage expertise and accelerate technology development.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify and evaluate new battery technologies, chemistries, and materials.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in battery technology and industry trends.
- Contribute to the intellectual property portfolio of the company through invention disclosures and patent applications.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
- Adhere to federal and state regulations.

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or related field.
- Master's degree or PhD is preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with battery systems, including design, development, and testing.
- Strong knowledge and broad experience with different battery system designs and chemistries, including lithium-ion, solid-state, flow batteries, and emerging technologies.
- Proficient in battery modeling, simulation, and analysis tools.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex projects within timelines and budgets.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and analytically.
- High level of initiative, autonomy, and a self-driven attitude to take ownership of projects and drive them forward.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and requirements.
- Knowledge of battery safety standards and regulations is highly desirable.
- Experience with battery manufacturing processes and scale-up is preferred.
