- This position is responsible for serving daily meals.
- This position is essential for the direct care of the residents living in the Kansas Veterans Home and required by regulation. This direct care position will be responsible for providing assistance with activities of daily living for residents in the long term care living facility and other areas as assigned. The incumbent of this position has access to protected health information (PHI) under the provisions of the Health Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) Privacy Rule.
- Serves Meals/trays according to established safety and sanitation guidelines from steam tables.
- Prepares dining room for upcoming meal.
- Prepare beverages for the upcoming meal.
- Removes food items.
- High School education or equivalent
- Required at entry: Ability to: 1) understand and follow written and oral directions, 2) work effectively with fellow workers and others, 3) lift and carry heavy objects and, 4) learn the use and care of equipment, materials, utensils, and methods used in food service.
