    Description

    SUMMARY

    Supports a manufacturing facility by performing professional level Human Resources responsibilities involving multiple operational areas such as payroll, employment/recruiting, benefits administration, training, and employee relations.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in an effective manner with customers, clients, suppliers, and employees.

    Payroll

    • Ensures proper processing of the payroll and process required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions.

    Recruitment

    • Prepares and distributes appropriate and compliant internal and external job postings
    • Develops, organizes, and conducts special recruiting events such as job fairs.
    • Receives and logs internal and external applications for employment.
    • Acts as hiring team leader for filling job vacancies performing the hiring process in accordance with the companys hiring guidelines.
    • Evaluates internal and external candidates for hourly vacancies compared to the search criteria and recommends best qualified candidates to move forward in the screening/interviewing.
    • Conducts initial screens and shares results with the hiring team.
    • Conducts one-on-one interviews and leads panel interviews.
    • Facilitates and documents hiring teams selection of the best qualified candidates.
    • Initiates background screening process; prepares offer letters and extends offers to best qualified candidates.
    • Conducts separation meetings and/or exit interviews.
    • Conducts new hire orientations.

    Benefits Administration

    • Administers health and welfare benefits. Answers employees questions providing further assistance and guidance.
    • Prepares and submits regular reports in an accurate and timely manner.

    Employee Relations

    • Acts as a resource on Human Resources matters, providing guidance, assistance and support to management, supervisors and employees.
    • Executes and participates in the planning of employee relations events.
    • Recommends communications designed to improve the employment environment.
    • Counsels supervisors and employees on rules, contract provisions and established procedures.
    • Participates in, and at times may lead, investigations into alleged employee relations issues.

    Training

    • Maintains all training records for location.
    • Schedules training programs.
    • Communicates with locations managers regarding annual training needs and training completed.
    • Ensures collection and entry of all training forms into electronic database.
    • Counsels local supervisors and managers on Companys ISO and IATF policies, procedures and work instructions.
    • Acts as a resource for locations managers in identifying appropriate programs and resources to meet training needs.

    Miscellaneous (Non-Supervisory)

    Acts as a good steward of the Companys resources and exemplifies the values of the Company.

    Ensures personal compliance with all Company policies, procedures, values, ethics, and rules.

    Maintains and promotes a safe work environment through ownership of Company safety program. This includes following and enforcing all safety rules/regulations and proper operating procedures, as well as the proper use of prescribed safety equipment pertinent to the department, and immediately reporting all accidents/incidents to supervisor and Human Resources.

    Supports the Companys equal employment opportunity policy and actions, immediately reporting violations to supervisor and/or the Human Resources department.

    Ensures that work area is free from any form of harassment (sexual, racial, religious, etc.), immediately reporting violations to supervisor and/or the Human Resources department.

    Supports Companys quality and environmental policies and programs and meets quality requirements specified for position. Meets quality requirements specified by production drawings, bills of materials, control plans, policies, work instructions, and procedures.

    Actively participates in and successfully completes appropriate training and that all training provided is evaluated and that proper documentation is provided for accurate maintenance of the employees training record.

    Meets with supervisor at least once per year to review job performance using this job description as a basis for appraisal.

    Maintains complete security and confidentiality of all Company records and employee data.

    Maintains a clean, orderly and professional work environment.

    Performs other miscellaneous duties as may be assigned.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    No direct supervision is required of this position.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or related field, and at least two years of Human Resources experience including general knowledge and experience with Human Resources and employment laws (e.g., Title VII, ADA, FLSA, FCRA, AA, USERRA, OSHA, etc.); or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Recruiting and benefits administration and experience preferred.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Professional human resources certification is preferred (e.g. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, etc.)

    OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.

    KEY METRICS

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, supervisors, and managers.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    COMPUTER SKILLS

    Ability to use a personal computer with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications most notably Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Ability to use main business information system (PLEX experience is preferred), Human Resource Information Systems (PLEX and Kronos preferred), and Internet based services.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
