    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaborates with healthcare professionals, pharmacies, labs, and hospitals to coordinate care.
    • Attends medical and psychiatric appointments to advocate for individuals to ensure appropriate treatment.
    • Ensures all medical and psychiatric treatment plans comply with current Standards of Care/Regulations.
    • Reviews monthly medication orders for accuracy and monitors medication supplies.
    • Verifies new prescriptions and ensures timely fulfillment.
    • Trains and certifies staff on medication administration according to State Regulations and best practices.
    • Communicates with families regarding medical issues.
    • Provides 24-hour telephone triage services, weekdays, and notifies the RN Program Director in emergency situations.
    • Provides nursing coverage during assigned RN's PTO.
    • Maintains accurate medical histories and records for regulatory compliance.
    • Develops annual Nursing Plans of Care, including health and physical development, PCP, and goal plans.

    Requirements:


    Essential Qualifications:

    • Current NYS Licensed Registered Nurse.
    • Bachelor's degree preferred.
    • One year of experience as a Registered Nurse required.
    • Experience in MR/DD preferred.
    • Knowledge of OPWDD regulations preferred.
    • Valid driver's license preferred.
