    The Opportunity:

    Our client is looking for an experienced Technical Buyer/Planner to join their team. This role is vital in the supply team, handling the procurement of technical components and materials needed for operations, focusing on new product introduction and production supply. By collaborating with suppliers, internal teams, and maintaining a strategic approach to procurement, this role adds to the efficiency and success of the organization's product cost reduction efforts and supply chain processes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Analyze technical drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM) to identify required components and materials.
    • Develop procurement strategies to reduce costs and meet lead times and market trends.
    • Identify and assess potential suppliers of technical components and materials.
    • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers for favorable conditions.
    • Create and oversee purchase orders for technical components and materials.
    • Analyze demand forecasts and historical usage data to determine optimal inventory levels.

    Job Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field; CPM or CPIM certification preferred.
    • Working knowledge of relevant part fabrication and assembly process including metals, plastics, printed circuit boards, electrical/mechanical assembly.
    • Demonstrated cross functional collaboration leadership experience especially with NPI to drive DFX and cost reduction efforts.
    • Up-to-date on commodity market pricing and availability for various metals, plastics, discrete electronics, and ICs.
    • Proficiency in using procurement and inventory management software; working knowledge of NetSuite MRP and Planning Workbench functionality is a plus.
