- Provide expert nursing care to ensure the comfort and well-being of patients
- Assist physicians during examinations and treatments, ensuring the smooth flow of procedures
- Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor patient vital signs to ensure optimal recovery
- Maintain accurate records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress
- Participate as a primary nurse, associate nurse, team member, or team leader in the planning and implementation of patient care
- Direct and assist in carrying out safe aseptic techniques and procedures
- Offer leadership and direction to support staff within the department
- Associate's Degree in Nursing
- One year of nursing experience preferred
- Current Texas State RN License or Compact RN License
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- ACLS certification is required at the time of hire for experienced RNs; new graduate nurses must obtain ACLS by the end of the clinical orientation period
- NIHSS certification required within 90 days of hire/transfer date
- De-escalation training is required within 90 days of hire/transfer date
- TNCC certification required within 6 weeks of hire for experienced RNs; new graduate nurses must obtain TNCC within 18 months of hire/transfer date
- PALS certification is required at the time of hire for experienced RNs; new graduate nurses must obtain PALS by the end of the clinical orientation period
