- The ideal candidate will have nursing experience in pediatrics and procedural services in an acute care hospital
- One-year minimum experience in pediatric and/or women's hospital preferred.
- Completion of pre-employment drug screening.
- Completion of pre-employment criminal background reference check.
- Completion of pre-employment health evaluation including TB screening and annual or bi-annual re-evaluation as indicated by Employee Health.
- One-year minimum experience in pediatric and/or women's hospital preferred.
- The RN must be able to comply with every other weekend work commitment as well as be available to work and be scheduled any day of the week.
- BSN required unless waived by nurse executive council review.
- Graduated from an accredited nursing program unless otherwise approved by the Nursing Executive Council (NEC).*Approved accrediting bodies include: ACEN and CCNE others must be approved by NEC.
- California Registered Nursing (RN) License required
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Card required via American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Card required via American Heart Association

Position Summary
To provide safe, cost-effective patient care through the health experience, according to established standards utilizing the nursing process, within the scope of practice of Registered Nursing.
The RN, Registered Nurse 8-Hr provides safe, cost-effective patient care through the health experience, according to established standards utilizing the nursing process, within the scope of practice of Registered Nursing, for the Pediatric Procedure Room at MemorialCare Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach.
The Pediatric Procedure Room is part of the Pediatric Specialty Unit. The nurses in the Pediatric Procedure Room work with physicians who perform inpatient and outpatient procedures that require deep sedation. This includes endoscopies, colonoscopies, lumbar punctures, bone marrow aspirations, MRIs, nuclear med scans, radiation oncology, etc. The sedation nurses prepare their patients for the procedures, participate in the monitoring of patients during the procedures and transfer to PACU once procedure is complete.
These nurses are also trained to place Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC) lines in patients in Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach.
