    UFG is currently hiring a Reinsurance Accountant who will be responsible for the creating, developing, analyzing and maintaining data used in the preparation of financial statements, examinations, regulatory reporting, and reinsurance contract renewals, and claim recoveries from reinsurers as determined by specific reinsurance contracts in force at time of loss.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain reinsurance records for all companies within the group.
    • Prepare monthly and annual reports for statement reporting
    • Work with auditors & examiners to supply needed information
    • Monitor reinsurance claims and premiums
    • Develop, maintain & prepare information in a timely basis for entry to the financial reporting process
    • Prepare annual statement reinsurance schedules and exhibits for the group.
    • Report and support catastrophe recoveries to reinsurers and follow up on collections.
    • Develop, analyze & maintain subsidiary records & ledgers to assist with independent and state examinations.
    Qualifications:

    Education:
    • Four-year degree in business/finance/accounting required.
    Certifications/Designations:
    • Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) preferred.
    Experience:
    • 3+ years Reinsurance experience preferred.
    Knowledge, skills & abilities:
    • Knowledge of specific reinsurance contracts and agreements preferred.
    • Basic knowledge of statutory accounting for reinsurance preferred.
    • Basic knowledge of underwriting required.
