    High School Social Science Teacher

    Full-Time/Exempt

    Begins: July 29, 2024
    Salary Range $65K-$105K

    Chartwell School is seeking a High School Humanities/Social Studies teacher to join our team for the school year. The appropriate candidate holds a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Social Science and is able to teach 9-12th grade humanities to neurodiverse students.

    We are a growing independent college preparatory school on the Monterey Peninsula in coastal California, approximately 100 miles south of San Francisco. For nearly 40 years Chartwell has been serving students in grades 1-12, who have been identified as having dyslexia or related language-based learning differences. Class sizes are small and teachers individualize instruction while teaching small groups.

    The successful candidate is responsible for understanding student learning profiles and scaffolding instruction to meet the needs of individual students. A solid understanding of social science content and direct teaching of skills is necessary. Experience with technology and blended learning platforms and project based learning experience is beneficial. A special education credential is also desirable, but not required.
