- Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry best practices.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of construction sites, identifying potential hazards and recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and follow-up actions to prevent recurrence of accidents or near misses.
- Provide guidance and support to project teams on safety-related matters, including hazard recognition, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate and conduct safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and other educational initiatives to promote awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities, ensuring documentation is up-to-date and accessible as required.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to proactively address safety concerns and ensure a safe working environment for all.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to construction safety, and implement appropriate updates to safety programs and procedures.
- Foster a culture of safety excellence through effective communication, leadership, and engagement with all levels of the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction safety management, with a focus on commercial projects.
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, and other relevant safety guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively train, educate, and influence others on safety matters.
- Strong leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire and motivate teams to prioritize safety in all aspects of their work.
- Proficiency in safety management software and tools for incident tracking, inspections, and reporting.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing safety risks.
