Job Overview
The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology is undergoing a major expansion and is seeking faculty candidates to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level in the broad area of cancer basic research.
Topics of interest are: 1. Mechanisms regulating cancer metabolism, redox balance and the response to cellular stress and; 2. Mechanisms underlying therapeutic resistance.
The ideal candidate will have a strong academic record, including funding appropriate to career stage, and expertise with in vitro, ex vivo and/or in vivo experimental systems.
Ideal disease focus is, but not limited to, lung, head and neck and gastrointestinal cancers.The division has strong collaborative ties with the Department of Cancer Biology. The environment is collegial, collaborative and interdisciplinary.
Our faculty currently has strengths in signal transduction, ferroptosis, lipidomics, mouse cancer modeling, autophagy, mitochondrial dynamics, cellular stress response pathways, novel cancer treatments, resistance to targeted therapy and tumor immunobiology.
Disease interests span from solid tumors and leukemia.
In addition, ample opportunities exist on campus for access to resources in immunobiology, laboratory medicine, transfusion medicine, cellular therapy and cancer biology at the University of Cincinnati Medical College, the Hoxworth Blood Center and the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
