    Job Description


    The Diversified Analog Solutions team located in Woburn, MA is home to Skyworks' design center for RF front-end solutions, low noise and power amplifiers, switches and controllers for 5G LTE infrastructure and has a challenging opportunity for a University student available for a 6-month work term (June- Dec The student will report to a senior design engineering mentor. As a PA Design / Lab Measurement Co-Op student you will apply sound engineering skills to a variety of task and project assignments in PA design, semiconductor component development and evaluation.

    Position Summary

    The selected individual will join a PA design team focused on the design, evaluation and delivery of next generation semiconductor products to Skyworks' cellular infrastructure customers. This position includes collaborating directly with designers to achieve and demonstrate performance targets and meet schedule requirements through simulations, hands-on lab measurement and evaluation.

    Responsibilities and Qualifications

    • Perform RF measurement evaluation, summarize, and present data to design engineers.
    • Assists in design simulations, evaluation and debugging of RF circuits such as switches, Filters, Couplers, PA's, LNA's and FEM's.
    • Currently enrolled in an MSEE/PhD Program in the field RF/Microwave
    • Basic knowledge of RF Design Theory (transmission lines, discrete and distributed RF circuits, passive RF circuits, RF Low Noise Amplifiers, RF Power Amplifiers.
    • Basic knowledge of RF measurement of commonly used figures of merit (scattering parameters, noise figure, stability, intermodulation, gain compression, AM/AM, AM/PM, efficiency, ACLR.
    • Basic knowledge of RF measurement instruments (Vector Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Power Meter, Load-Pull, DPD, etc.)
    • Experience utilizing RF/Microwave simulation tools (Keysight ADS, Momentum, HFSS, Microwave Office, Cadence Virtuoso).

    The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $ $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $ $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
