    Location: Morada Bay Beach Cafe, Mile Marker 81.6, Islamorada, Florida Keys

    Job Summary Morada Bay Beach Cafe is looking for a Sous Chef. This role is key in overseeing our kitchen's day-to-day operations, providing support to our Executive Chef, delivering high-quality and consistent food, and ensuring a smooth service at our beachside cafe. This position reports to the Executive Chef.

    Job Responsibilities

  • Guest Management: Uphold the high standards of food quality and presentation, interact with guests to gauge satisfaction, and train staff on menu details.
  • Culinary Management/Production: Manage daily kitchen operations, maintain inventory and kitchen organization, ensure adherence to health and safety standards, and promote effective communication within the team.
  • Culinary Skills: Keep up with culinary trends suitable for our casual dining atmosphere, and bring creativity to menu development and food presentation.
  • Financial Management: Handle kitchen finances, including budgeting, cost control, and purchasing, while focusing on optimizing profitability.

    Requirements

  • Bilingual - English/Spanish or English/Creole
  • Education: High school diploma or GED; culinary degree or certification is preferred.
  • Experience: Experience in kitchen management, preferably in a casual or beachside dining environment. Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills are essential.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
