Position Details Req ID: req15676 Position Title: Tenure or Clinical Track Assist/Assoc Professor in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care Position Type: Faculty Position Number: AF9265, AF9180 OSU Campus: Stillwater Department: Veterinary Clinical Sciences Location Address: Stillwater, OK Hiring Supervisor: Dr. Daniel Burba Hiring Range:(Contingent upon available funding): , Commensurate with education and experience Work Schedule: generally 8-5 Faculty Appt Period: 11 Month Job Summary: Responsibilities include providing timely and accurate triage and care of hospitalized cases or emergencies primarily during normal working hours. Primary duty is to provide clients and patients with the highest standard of veterinary care and to provide instructional and clinical support to the students and small animal interns and residents. Communicate with clients and colleagues in a timely manner of critical case managements, in both written and verbal formats. Supervise and direct interns and students on all aspects of case management, including financial updates for pet owners. Additionally, offer topic rounds and skills training for interns and students. Work with small animal faculty, residents, and technicians for case transfers to specialty services and ongoing management and oversight of in-patients. Provide input to be used in performance evaluation of all personnel working in support of the Emergency Service and ICU. Participate with faculty and house officers to improve knowledge of the discipline and management of the section. Minimum Qualifications:
D.V.M. ER/Critical Care
Residency training in small animal emergency and critical care medicine
Certification by the American College of Veterinary Emergency Critical Care (ACVECC) or the European College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ECVECC). Candidates qualified to take the ACVECC or ECVECC certification are eligible.
Faculty practice license will be required.
Must comply with mandatory rabies pre-exposure vaccine program.
