- Develops, implements, and manages processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery.
- Serves as primary point of contact for customer base on quality topics, and for supplier base on requirements/expectations.
- Hires and trains quality staff & oversees daily workflow and schedules of the department.
- Conducts performance evaluations in a timey and constructive manner while overseeing discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy when required.
- Identifies and sets appropriate quality standards and parameters for products.
- Communicates quality standards and parameters to quality team, product development team, and other appropriate staff.
- Coordinate/participate in product testing processes.
- Identifies and analyzes issues, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products; recommends and facilitates solutions to these issues.
- Coordinate audits of the Quality Management System (QMS); including internal, external, and customer audits.
- Manage the Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA) system and ensure that all Corrective/Preventive actions are completed in a timely and effective manner to prevent recurrence of issues.
- Lead Management Review meetings, present evidence of the effectiveness of the QMS to the Executive Management team.
- Manage the Process Change system, including review and approval of change requests.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, or field related to the products being developed preferred.
- Three to five years of experience in a related field required with supervisory experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
- Great organizational, attention-to-detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to interpret customer drawings and quality requirements.
