    Description

    Germantown Friends School in Philadelphia is looking for a teacher of American Sign Language for six to eight one-hour classes for 10th-12th graders who are at the elementary through advanced levels. The class will commence with the school year. Fluency in English and ASL is required, preferably with experience teaching in a high school. Preference will be given to candidates who meet one or more of the following:

    • Super Plus rating on ASLPI exam or comparable ASL exam
    • Deaf, ASL-fluent, but CODA considered
    • Master's degree in Deaf Studies, ASL or ASL interpreting, or closely related field
    • Specialization in ASL pedagogy and/or Deaf Studies GFS operates on an eight-day academic schedule, so classes will not meet on a consistent day of the week, but the possibility exists for a hybrid schedule of in-person and remote.
