    Your Specific Responsibilities:

    The duties and responsibilities of this position include those functions and tasks of a Supervisor of CHN's, Med Techs, Staff Assistant and Health Educators in the Family Planning/ STD Program. Provides technical and professional medical/public health nursing information and advice and treatment to clients and families. Responsible for all supervisory duties including, but not limited to, hiring and selection, developing performance plans, conducting performance appraisals, planning and directing their work, approving leave, and taking disciplinary action as appropriate. A valid Florida Registered Nurse License, valid driver's license is required for this position.

    SUPERVISOR

    Is responsible for the daily supervision and coordination of nursing care in the Family Planning/STD Clinic. Responsible for the immediate coordination of CHN's, Med Techs, Staff Assistant and Health Educators in the Family Planning/STD Clinic. Assures that policies and procedures are being followed by monitoring the nursing care and services. Provides preservice training and orientation for all staff under her coordination and required orientation documentation for Title X requirements. Participates in the development of the budgets for Family Planning and STD programs, and assures budget control and a balanced budget plus or minus 5%.

    Coordinates quality improvement studies for Family Planning/STD program. Assures corrective action plans are implemented. Collects Family Planning/STD clinic statistics as requested by supervisor. Completes all Title X program reports accurately and completely and submit as required. Participates in Title X site review and Telephone reviews. Responsible for I and E Committee and community input into Title X program.

    Reviews for the accurate completion of superbills daily. Coordinates correction of returned superbills with family planning/STD staff. Conducts monthly meeting of clinic staff to educate and maintain continuity of care and policy adherence among staff. Hold one on one meeting with individual staff members to maintain communication and to encourage staff development.

    Maintains and improves professional knowledge and skills through attending staff meetings, workshops and seminars. Ensures that all staff complete mandatory training and yearly update for Title X program, make available continuing education on contraception, pregnancy and other related topics for family planning and sexually transmitted diseases

    Coordinates sterilization program; oversees colposcopy program; ensures prompt and proper treatment of clients with positive Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Maintains inventory of pharmaceuticals and clinic supplies.

    Assures review of all Family Planning laboratory reports daily. Assures follow-up on abnormal or missing lab work. Reviews daily schedules and manages staffing as required to accommodate schedule. Reviews and updates policies related to Family planning and Sexually Transmitted Disease programs. Performs client chart reviews to assure QI and QA.

    DIRECT CLIENT SERVICES

    Provides direct CHN services in the absence of the family planning/STD nursing staff. Receives and returns telephone calls to Family Planning/STD clients. HIV pretest counseling. Refers follow-up to the ARNP or appropriate source. Interviews and records results of medical history and limited pre-exam physical findings.

    Supplies contraceptive methods and performs exit interviews on Family Planning/STD clients and records data on clinical record. Provides counseling in all methods of contraception. Distributes medication according to Family Planning/STD Protocol.

    Performs Pregnancy tests per protocol and provides appropriate counseling to clients. Refers clients for prenatal care and documents all test results and counseling.

    Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    Minimum -

    Current Florida Registered Nursing License

    One year of supervisor experience

    Experience working with Family Planning or STD clients
