    Job Title: Production Director - Liquids

    Location: New Jersey

    Overview:

    The Liquid Production Director is responsible for managing the liquids production process. While the Director will work under the direction of the Liquid Production Vice President, the Liquid Production Director will serve as the back-up to the Liquid Production Vice President in the Vice President's absences and therefore must be fully knowledgeable about all aspects of the production and pre-weigh processes. The Director will oversee a staff of up to 20. The Director must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. He/she must be able to multi-task and be goal oriented. The Director will also be responsible for identifying ways to improve productivity, enhance safety and motivate staff to achieve higher levels of performance. The Director sets expectations for the team and monitors performance. The Liquid Production Director must be able to work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends), as needed.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Reviews production schedule and customer orders and coordinates production and packaging operations needs to meet orders efficiently and accurately.
    • Monitor and maintain safe working environment through adherence to safety regulations and observance of good housekeeping practices.
    • Supervises GMP manufacturing operations, closeout of all process documentation, and process investigations accurately and timely.
    • Provide direct supervision for production personnel, participate in decisions involving hiring, promotion, compensation changes, coaching, and progressive discipline.
    • Monitors and measures employees' performance using both quantitative and qualitative measures.
    • Communicate daily with direct reports as well as the Production Vice President to ensure critical information is transferred.
    • Provides immediate assessment and corrective action when deviations occur to ensure continued product quality and minimize negative impact on production schedule.
    • Direct communication with Planning and Customer Service to negotiate production plan that will maximize production capacity and customer satisfaction.
    • Manage and direct production floor operations to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
    • Assess individual and overall Operator training needs; developing and implementing plans to meet those needs.
    • Ability to analyze, diagnose, and resolve problems timely.
    • Ensure required SQF documentation is completed accurately and is up to date.

    Requirements:

    • Previous experience in liquid production supervision or management.
    • Knowledge of production processes, machinery, and equipment such as homogenizers, filter presses and various types of pumps.
    • Strong leadership and people management skills.
