Educational Requirements:

• Must meet ABHES, CAAHEP, KCPE and BPE instructor qualifications.
• Associate degree required.
• Must have two years in the field experience.

License/Certification: RDCS/CCI Certification (Required).

About the Position:Instructor - Diagnostic Medical Sonography Echocardiography.

Instructor needed for Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. This is an accelerated, 10-week quarter-based program, located in Jeffersonville, IN.

Title: Instructor.Department: Diagnostic Medical Sonography-Echocardiography.Immediate Supervisor: Program Director, Diagnostic Medical Sonography Echocardiography.Employment Status: Full-Time.

Job Summary:
Instructors are required to provide instruction and monitor learning/teaching effectiveness in courses assigned by the Program Director.

They are responsible for, but are not limited to, the following:

• Teach course(s) or lab(s).
• Prepare and, on the first day of class, distribute course syllabi that informs the students as to absences, tardiness, testing, assignments and grading policies.
• Inform students of their progress by promptly returning assignments, quizzes, tests and homework.
• Compile, administer and grade instruments that evaluate student progress.
• Encourage the use of school resources, outside library and internet sources.
• Counsel students and notify student and Program Director of frequent absences, failures, or necessary make-up work.
• Hold all assigned classes on time in the assigned classrooms and be available to students 15 minutes before class, except between classes (if teaching courses back-to-back), and 15 minutes after class to offer guidance/tutoring to students.
• Follow procedures related to the Registrar's office, including grade papers and deadlines, attendance record reports, withdrawal deadlines, midterm reports and the like.
• Follow the academic calendar and procedures.
• Direct library research or other outside assignments.
• Promote Caris College programs and curricula.
• Update syllabi, as needed.
• Substitute for colleagues when necessary.
• Provide a safe environment for students and be responsible for the security of assigned equipment, materials and classrooms.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
