    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Patient Assessment and Care:

      • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' health status, including medical history and concerns regarding the radiological procedure.
      • Monitor vital signs and ensure patient comfort throughout the imaging or interventional procedure.
      • Identify patient needs and deliver appropriate nursing interventions, including anxiety management and addressing physical discomfort.

    2. Preparation for Radiology Procedures:

      • Prepare patients for imaging procedures, ensuring informed consent is obtained and proper positioning is done.
      • Gather necessary equipment, medications, and supplies according to the procedure requirements.
      • Administer prescribed medications, including sedatives and contrast agents, while monitoring for adverse reactions.

    3. Assisting with Procedures:

      • Support radiologists during diagnostic imaging and interventional procedures like biopsies and angiograms.
      • Carefully monitor patients, managing sedation levels and addressing any medical concerns that arise.
      • Respond promptly to complications or emergencies during procedures.

    4. Sedation and Pain Management:

      • Administer and monitor sedation and anesthesia as per physician's orders, prioritizing patient safety.
      • Assess patient responses to sedation and adjust medications as needed.
      • Provide effective pain management during and after radiology procedures.

    5. Post-Procedure Care:

      • Closely monitor patients post-procedure, especially those who received sedation.
      • Educate patients on post-care instructions regarding hydration, rest, and managing side effects.
      • Document all assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).

    6. Patient Education:

      • Explain procedures, potential side effects, and care plans to patients.
      • Address any patient questions regarding their treatment and aftercare.

    7. Infection Control and Safety:

      • Adhere to strict infection control protocols during patient handling and equipment use.
      • Maintain a sterile field during procedures to minimize infection risk.
      • Follow proper disposal guidelines for radioactive materials and contrast agents.

    8. Collaboration and Communication:

      • Work closely with radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
      • Communicate effectively with patients and families about procedures and recovery progress.

    9. Documentation and Reporting:

      • Accurately document all nursing assessments and patient responses in a timely manner.
      • Report any adverse reactions or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate team members.
