    Level 3 Trauma
    Stroke center of Excellence
    Bariatric center of Excellence
    Chest Pain Center

    Radius rule:
    Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit


    • Department Information:
    Census? Average patients/day? 51
    Minimum Years of Experience required? 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience
    Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes


    • Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
    Chronic diseases, CHF specialty area, Mental Health, Addiction Services for patients requiring 6 weeks of IV abx, COPD, DM, Wounds, Geriatric care

    • Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.)
    , or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:

    • Patient Ratios:
    RN: 1:4-6, acuity dependent – surge times could increase to
    1:7

    • Skills required:

    General Med/Tele skillset:

    Cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with non-titrating Cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone), care of patients with tubes/drains, IV start skills, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, etc.


    • Support within the Department:
    Nurse Manager, Administrative Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Supervisor, staff RNs, CNA, Clinical Mentor, Rapid Response RN, House Supervisor


    • Technology/Equipment:

    EMR:

    EPIC

    Department specific Equipment:
    scales, GBS machine, transfer device, vein finder, EKG, crash cart, language interpreter, tele-medicine cart for online assessments of patients, doppler


    • Floating:
    Within region and scope of practice
    Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable
    Region - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main

    Mercy

    LCH (peds only) could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises
    If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)
