Purchasing Director Summary

Reporting to the Vice President of Purchasing, the Purchasing Director develops and maintains a team of buyers to buy products at the best price available.

Purchasing Director Qualifications
5 years purchasing and inventory control experience
2-3 years of management experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or related field
Effective leadership ability
Previous purchasing experience; preferably in a redistribution environment
Strong math and analytical skills
Exceptional negotiation skills
ERP experience
Keen attention detail and accuracy
Polished oral and written communication skills
Purchasing Director Duties
Manages and develops the Buyer team
Oversees vendor and contract negotiations
Forecasts trends, inventory turns and fill rates to determine needs of business
Supports and communicate with sales, customer service, and operations in the assigned region
Builds and maintain relationships with vendors, manufacturers, and suppliers
Other duties as assigned
