    Monday- Friday, Tuesday-Saturday

    Starting pay:

    $18.00 per hour

    Who We Serve:

    EMT serves organizations in the St. Louis, Missouri metro and surrounding areas, including neighboring areas in Illinois, as well as Cumberland, Maryland. These organizations include school districts, hospitals, doctor's offices, and more. We also transport individuals and families to and from appointments or simply when they need a ride.

    Position Summary:


    Responsible for all aspects involved in the day-to-day operating, loading, and unloading of passengers with mobility challenges into and out of a vehicle equipped with lift platforms for stretchers, gurneys and/or wheelchairs.

    Provides safe, compassionate, dignified, and timely transportation for passengers with mobility challenges.

    Essential Functions:


    • Safely operate para-lift vehicles to transport individuals with mobility impairments.
    • Conduct daily inspections of the para-lift equipment and vehicle to ensure safety and proper functionality.
    • Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, ensuring the secure use of the lift and restraints.
    • Plan and follow the most efficient routes in accordance with schedules while adhering to traffic laws
    • Maintain communication with dispatch or management about passenger pickups, drop-offs, and any delays or issues.
    • Manage and maintain accurate records of travel logs, vehicle maintenance, fuel consumption, and incident reports.
    • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a courteous and respectful demeanor with all passengers.
    • Conduct emergency evacuation procedures when necessary.
    • Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding the operation of para lift vehicles.
    • Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the vehicle at all times.
    • Attend and complete all required training and certification programs for para lift operation.
    • Report any accidents or vehicle damage to management immediately.
    • Ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and any other applicable regulations regarding the transportation of individuals with disabilities.
    • Utilize the vehicle's accessibility features properly to accommodate wheelchairs and other mobility devices.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    • During employment with EMT, drivers must maintain a clear MVR.
    • Drivers must possess a valid driver's license; class E (for hire) or higher preferred.
    • Drivers must not have a driver's license suspension or revocation for moving traffic violations within the previous three years.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing.
    • Physical ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
    Must be able to assist passengers in transferring from seated to seated or lying to seated positions safely.

    Compensation details:

    18-19 Hourly Wage
