    Position Summary:

    The Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the financial management of the institution by

    providing analysis and insights. This entry-level position is designed for a new college graduate who is

    eager to learn and contribute to our finance team. The successful candidate will be a motivated

    individual with the ability to work collaboratively within the Finance organization and across various

    departments.

    Detailed Description:
    • Assist in the expansion of our treasury and endowment management function, including tracking, reporting and optimizing the investments of our operating cash and restricted endowment funds
    • Support the monthly financial reporting process, including variance analysis and the explanation of actual results
    • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and development of accurate institutional forecasts in collaboration with the Operations Finance team
    • Help in the development and automation of monthly financial performance presentations
    • Engage in regular communication with various departments (e.g., TGen Foundation, Research Operations, Business Development) to stay informed about new projects and revisions to existing ones.
    • Participate in the creation of financial models and analyses under supervision to support decision-making processes.
    • Contribute to complex assignments/projects as part of a team.
    • Learn to use planning and financial software tools (e.g., EPBCS/Hyperion, Smartview, Oracle, Orbitz)
    • Perform additional duties as needed to support the finance team.
    Requirements
    • Basic understanding of financial analysis principles and a willingness to develop forecasting and modeling skills
    • Basic understanding of investment management principles
    • Proficient in Excel
    • Familiarity with Oracle, Hyperion, and/or EPBCS is a plus
    • Strong organizational skills and an eagerness to learn
    • Good problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail
    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
    • Open to learning and working under supervision
    • Ready to exercise judgment and discretion in various situations
    • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Willingness to establish and maintain professional relationships within and outside the finance team.
    Education and Work Experience Requirements:
    • A Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Finance, recent and upcoming graduates encouraged to apply.
    • Prior internships or part-time work in related fields is a plus but not required.
